COVID-19 FAQ

Yes! We offer two different COVID-19 nasal swabs to detect an active infection.  Our newest option is rapid test, and the other option is a PCR swab we send to the lab.  We also offer antibody testing.
Tests are billed to your insurance.  If you don’t have insurance, your cost would be $100 dollars for the rapid test, and $150 for the test that is sent to the lab.

All patients requesting a COVID-19 test must first be seen by a North Hills Family Medicine provider through telehealth visit.  You can request a telehealth visit with a specific provider either through your patient portal or calling the specific clinic North Richland Hills at  817-284-1165 or Keller location 817-431-3800.
For the North Richland Hills location: You will drive up to the clinic during your allocated appointment time.  Arrive at the back of the building where our COVID Trailer is located.  Please stay in your vehicle and pull to the blue set of stairs.  Please stay in your vehicle with the windows rolled up until your time to get tested.    Nursing Staff will verify your name and date of birth.  At the time of your test, nursing staff will administer testing at your car side.
 
For the Keller location:  You will drive to the clinic during your allocated appointment time.  Arriving on the south side of the building, there you will find designated parking that is for COVID testing only.  Please stay in your vehicle with the windows rolled up until your time to get tested.  Nursing Staff will verify your name and date of birth.  At the time of your test, nursing staff will administer testing at your car side.
We currently have drive up testing locations at both clinic locations.
No!  You can expect to be seen for a telehealth visit within 24 hours of your request some same day appointments available as well!  Your provider will schedule the COVID-19 test soon after the telehealth visit.
Results are available within 6-8 hours for the rapid test, 2-3 days for the send out test, and 2 days for the antibody test.
Your results will be uploaded to your patient portal account.  Please ensure that you have an accurate email on your account and you are registered.  Please contact the Front Desk if you have any problems with your patient portal account.
 

If you test positive for an active COVID-19 infection, you will receive a customized care plan from a North Hills Family Medicine provider.  If you receive positive results, we recommend that all household members get tested as well.  Household members will need to follow the same requirements listed above.
