PREVENTATIVE CARE

Checkups, immunizations and screenings are an important part of staying healthy. They can help detect or prevent serious diseases and help keep you healthy.

We provide regular well-child examinations and sports physicals, as well as complete male and female exams. We strongly recommend all adults get a complete physical every year.

EARLY DISEASE DETECTION

  • We use screening tests to find disease before symptoms appear
  • We use diagnostic tests, medical exams, and self-exams to find a disease early in its course

Often the earlier a disease is diagnosed, the more likely it is that it can be cured or successfully managed while maintaining the best quality of life as possible. The tests you need depend on your age, gender, risk factors and your family history. Please contact our office to schedule an appointment to discuss any concerns about early detection of diseases!

MEDICARE & ANNUAL WELLNESS VISITS

Medicare patients are eligible for a FREE “welcome to Medicare visit” within the first 12 months after your enrollment into Medicare. After your first year, Medicare offers a FREE “annual wellness visit”. These visits are designed to help you stay well.

You can expect your medical and family history, current health conditions and prescriptions to be reviewed. We will also check your blood pressure, vision, weight and height and ensure that you are up to date on preventive screenings and services, such as cancer screenings and shots.

Note: This is not a complete physical with blood work. Medicare does not cover a regular physical. If you have chronic conditions (diabetes, cholesterol, hypothyroidism, etc) that require blood work, your doctor may order blood work that can be supported by a diagnostic code.

Routine Physical Reminder

If you are scheduled for a routine physical, you must come in fasting 12 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. You may have water and black coffee ONLY! You may also take your regular medications that can be taken on an empty stomach (except diabetic medications).
